Addition and renovation, machining facility

Group Eight was responsible for the mechanical, electrical and civil engineering services for the new addition and renovation project at Wescast Industries, machining facility in Strathroy. The work included design, specifications, contract administration and general construction review.

The 15,000 ft², fully air-conditioned addition includes offices and cafeteria as well as employees' locker and training rooms. The mechanical ventilation design provides a locker drying system.

As energy conservation measures, the design called for a building automation system for control of HVAC equipment, and for T8 lights.

Both the mechanical and electrical designs can accommodate future expansion.
