Investigation Unit/Surgical Suite Expansion
Group Eight was responsible for mechanical and electrical preliminary design, design
development, contract documents, contract administration and site review.
The project will provide 4 new Cardiac Catheterization Suites, 2 new Open Heart OR's, 32 Patient Care Stretcher Bays, and support facilities, including offices, a new Main Entrance and Lobby for the Hospital, with space for future food and retail services.
Mechanical systems include HVAC; plumbing & drainage; medical gases, including an expansion of the Hospital's central supply; sprinkler & standpipe equipment; and a DDC control system.
Electrical systems include power distribution; interior/exterior illumination; patient/nurse
Communication; structured cabling; and addressable fire alarm.
The project consisted of multiple phases and sequencing of the work, allowing operations to be maintained during construction. |

The $12 million project consists of a 36,300 ft2 addition including a 1-storey vertical addition to the existing main entrance with an adjacent 2-storey addition and approximately 11,900 ft2 of renovation.
